We differentiate between the conscious and the subconscious mind.
The conscious mind, where all the thinking, reasoning and analysing takes place, owns 5-10%. All the rest is our subconscious mind. It is like a storehouse and holds all our memories and experiences. Based on those experiences throughout our life we create beliefs, habits, form opinions and reactions. It does not apply logic, it resonates to emotions. The language of the subconscious is pictures. Most of that subconscious ‘programming’ took place during our childhood because our critical thinking, our logical and reasoning mind was not fully developed yet. So, we took in everything we sensed without any logical filter.
Sometimes those subconsciously formed reactions or beliefs – whenever created – are not working beneficially for us. E.g. by the way we have been treated by authority figures, we may believe that we are not good enough. Even though we may have many proofs through life experience that we are actually lovable and indeed able to perform outstandingly, there might still be that underlying belief. And it is that belief that holds us back to move forward with confidence and optimism. Or we may have a fear of public speaking even though we logically understand that there is nothing threatening us.
Therefore, hypnotherapy, like no any other form of therapy, is the only one directly approaching those subconscious processes and thus the subconscious mind.
Here unwanted beliefs, behaviour patterns, trauma and many somatic and psychosomatic symptoms can be resolved quickly without any interference of the conscious mind. Our body renews itself regularly, so the message we send to our cells by the thoughts we think can directly affect our physiology. By bringing you into hypnosis the logical thinking is bypassed and the subconscious mind can be accessed and ‘reprogrammed’. This is done by imagery and suggestions and analytical work to create new associations and new learnings within the subconscious mind which are working better for your benefit and well-being. This form of therapy involves no medication or any other kinds of external interventions. It is a completely internal process.
Hypnotherapy, along with CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), is evidence-based, and is the longest established of all forms of therapy. It is very effective in bringing about successful and long lasting results.
